Helle Mandra Original Versus The Mandra FG
When Helle decided to make a full flat grind knife, the Mandra was the obvious choice. The standard Mandra Scandi grind performs well for most tasks, while the new Mandra FG excels at slicing. Whether you are harvesting mushrooms, or slicing them up on your cutting board, the Mandra FG’s 12C27 blade will make sure that your cuts are clean.
See below for the comparison between the original and the new flat grind version.
Helle Mandra
Co-designed by SurvivorMan, Les Stroud, the original Helle Mandra was inspired by a Carpathian expedition in Romania back in 2015. This full tang neck knife uses Helle’s Triple Laminate Stainless Steel with a traditional Scandinavian grind, making it ideal for a wide array of uses from skinning to utility to bushcraft.

Helle Mandra FG

Made with a 12C27 blade with the same look as the original Mandra, it has a slightly thicker handle than the standard, because the white liners are thicker, creating a very balanced blade.
