Built in Holmedal and shaped by generations of Scandinavian craftsmanship, these additions reflect everything we value at Young & MacKenzie: functional design, natural materials, and tools meant to be used — and passed on.
Helle Allmenn - A Knife for Everyone
Allmenn — Norwegian for “for everyone” — is designed to live up to its name: a knife for every hand and every outdoor adventure.
The ergonomically shaped handle is crafted from dyed curly birch in rich red and black tones, creating a subtle flame pattern unique to each knife. The generous belly and thoughtful proportions make it comfortable and secure for most hand sizes.
The blade features a classic Scandi grind — simple, strong, and easy to maintain in the field. Paired with Alleima 12C27 stainless steel, Allmenn delivers toughness for real outdoor tasks while remaining easy to bring back to shaving sharp when needed.

The new Helle Leather Paddle Strop is crafted at the Helle factory in Holmedal using Western Norwegian birch and the same premium leather found in their sheaths. Designed for refining and maintaining an already sharp edge, it’s the perfect tool for keeping your knife shaving sharp.
The paddle features two working surfaces:
- Flesh side for one finish
- Grain side for a finer polish
Each strop includes both fine and coarse stropping compounds so you can set the leather to your preference.
